Volunteer

The 2018 MelaNoMore 5K will depend largely on the support of volunteers to ensure the success of the event. Volunteers will be needed to assist with runner registration, course monitoring, runner refreshments and first aid, and a variety of other tasks. Race day volunteers will receive a MelaNoMore 5K  volunteer t-shirt. (See MelaNoMore 5K Volunteer Opportunities below)





MelaNoMore 5K Volunteer Opportunities: (Scroll down for Sign - up form)

Packet Pickup - Setup packet pickup area, hand out race packets, goody bags and race t-shirts to athletes.

Volunteer Check-In - Assist Volunteer Coordinator in checking in all volunteers, hand out volunteer forms, distribute volunteer t-shirts and provide direction to volunteers.

Course Monitor (Flaggers) - This position requires volunteers to stand and walk, during extended periods of time, must be assertive and vocal. Volunteers will be positioned at strategic locations on the race course and direct runners as needed, watch for safety issues, cheer runners to victory and have fun.

Race Set Up - Volunteers will arrive before the race at approximately 6 AM-assist in setting up tents, tables and other duties as assigned.


Day of Registration - Assist in processing athlete registrations, and other duties, which may include handing out race bibs with timing chip, race t-shirt, goody bags and providing directions.

Hydration Station - Setup hydration station, hand out water, keep the course free of debris and clean up the area after the race concludes.

Award Set-Up/Distributor - Setup award station and hand out trophies to top finishers. Re-package unclaimed trophies and clean up area after the awards ceremony concludes.

Mile Marker Volunteers - Must be enthusiastic. Volunteers will be positioned at mile markers to cheer on and encourage runners.

End of Race Clean Up - Help clean up area after the event.
